After studying Sustainable Development at Bangor University, it became apparent that it’d be harder to save the planet than Hannah originally thought. It took forays into animal management and then high-end event management before she recognised her true calling.
Joining a FTSE-250 recruitment business, in a supporting role for Office Support, Non-Qualified and Qualified Finance, Hannah quickly recognised her flair for administrative efficiency. Looking for a more flexible work/life balance, she joined Seymour John Public Services, in the Midlands, helping establish this busy, specialist team’s reputation for exemplary client and candidate care.
Having taken a break to start a family, she now keeps our public services team in the North of England on the straight and narrow. From managing the all-important database, helping candidates develop their CVs and posting job adverts to processing contractor timesheets, raising invoices and organising events, she ensures a seamless experience for candidates, clients and our consultants. But perhaps most importantly, in a consultancy which specialises in meeting people resource challenges across the public sector, she is an advocate for the many contractors and interims we place, quickly resolving any issues on their behalf and ensuring they’re always paid – on time and for the work they’ve done.
Speaking about re-joining Seymour John, she said: “Flexible hours that I can work around caring for my young child and a role that fits my skillset perfectly… what’s not to love?! Seymour John is like a family, so it feels like coming home. And to be working with a new team in the North of England is very exciting. Helping shape its evolution will be both challenging and rewarding.”
It is a role that allows just enough time to get on with her already hectic life. She continues to maintain her animal-management skills, training and working with her dog. And when she’s not training the dog, riding the horse, petting the cat, socialising with friends or curling up with a good book… this self-confessed ‘yoga nut’ loves nothing more than spending time with her family.
